The THIN Modular Lighting System, designed by Peter Bristol for Juniper, is a collection of light fixtures embodying reductive design commonly used in modern spaces. It embraces customizable configurations that can be changed in size and shape to assemble lighting solutions that are unique to each space. Discover more about the modular lighting system in our interview with Juniper founder, Shant Madjarian.
The THIN System was meant to be a minimal yet powerful lighting solution that can overstep any size boundary. We were passionate to invent something meaningful to introduce a linear lighting solution that can be interconnected and configured to fit any application for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces.
The THIN Collection began formally with the THIN Task Lamp. As the product was developing, so was Juniper’s relationship with Peter Bristol. Now our design process casually shifted to conversations that start off with, “Wouldn’t it be cool if…?” as we further innovate the limitless lighting system into a modern art light, vanity, under cabinet, pendant, and more.
We proudly assemble high-quality LED lighting technology in our design studio to fit our fixtures with reductive design. With this creative solution, the THIN System lighting segments were innovated to embody 1/2-inch in diameter. They connect magnetically to allow users to fully rotate the configuration even after installation. It is not only the fixture that can be customized, but all users’ lighting experience as well. In turn, this technology enables the THIN System to be like building blocks that can be used to create limitless runs or a cluster of installations.
Even with the continued success of the THIN Collection, we are still rapidly expanding its capabilities to bring more imaginative lighting solutions to users all over the world. We are also working on projects to further introduce infinite lengths, new fixturing to allow for vertical suspension, and new connectors giving rise to new shapes and applications. So follow us on our Instagram to be the first to discover the expansion of the THIN System!
